'Hi all.

My name is Mark Shears and I have recently joined the skills exchange. After a very pleasant evening at Sally's then I found myself earning my first gem the next morning by moving top soil for her. Doing energetic gardening is definitely something I enjoy so if you have some digging etc then you know where to come!

The main skill I have included is life coaching which comes in many forms so I thought a quick introduction may help people to know whether it is something they would like to explore further. For want of a better place it is included in the 'advice' section of the spreadsheet but the first thing to emphasise is that I give no advice.

Instead I ask questions to help people gain clarity on what decisions they want to make or directions to take in life. I encourage the client to set goals but they are fully in control and set the goals that are right for them in their situation. In future sessions accountability for achieving goals is given - successes are celebrated and reasons for goals not being achieved are explored. I specialise in helping people improve the management of a long term condition (especially diabetes) and to achieve their ideal work-life balance but coaching can be easily applied to other areas as well. It is normally conducted over the phone but given how close everyone lives in this group then it can be done in person as well if preferred.

If you would like to know more then see http://www.yourbalance.co.uk/ or call 08450 943294'
