Now the house has been painted I wanted to make sure the garden looked a little tidier too. The gravel that filled in between the flagstones had become a mess as the hens kept on scratching it all over the place.

After years of letting it be action was taken. I needed some bags of cement mortar mix, they were too heavy to take back on my bike, so I called in the help of Catherine and Mike as they offer lifts to the tip. Although our builders merchant is not exactly a tip, they were happy to earn their first Gem by picking it up and dropping it at my house. It is all looking much better now but the hens are a little non-plussed. Is there anyone who is good at Hen wisphering to tell them that the game is over!
