'Electricity usage monitor - I have recently invested £30 in a gadget that monitors the amount of electricity that you are using at any time in the home. It is great! Even my wife who was all geared up to take the mickey has become addicted to watching the usage display and turning some lights off to reduce our cost per hour (or Kw/hour or greenhouse gas/hour). The kids (4 and 6) have also started turning lights off so the educational aim of the gadget is paying dividends already.
