Sunday

Today we combined the celebration of Green Streets West Bridgford with a get together of members of the Skills Exchange. Although it was the Bank Holiday saturday with lots of other pressures on people 50 friends turned up and did their bit to make it a lovely event.

Catherine came and sold her beautiful glass craft for a gem, Michelle was there with the Green Box shop, Flora with her funding ideas, Transition West Bridgford had a display showing all the initiatives currently active,
Martha made some lovely home made cards and paper gift bags out of newspapers and is inviting people to join her craft workshop. Thomas had some of his greeting cards on display. An amazing variety of cakes and biscuits; wheat and dairy free by Diane, a scrumptious German yeast cherry cake by Christa, some out of this world cakes by Sally T, freshly pressed apple juice from Trish and home made lemonade from Karina.
Mark from Taste supplied the delicious birthday cake and cupcakes so all in all a hive of activity where the group could mingle and net work. Lots of exchanges were set up so we can expect the Gems to shine in the weeks to come.

Thank you so much for all your contibutions to make this day a lovely event.

From the sounds of it the members enjoyed it too:

"Thanks for organising such a worthwhile event and for the photo! "Mark
" I fell privileged to be able to play a small part in the great work you are doing to protect our environment" Cllr Khan
