Saturday

On Friday 5th September, Margit spontaneously organised an afternoon get together where despite the terrential rain a room full of happy and enthusiastic people turned up.

Laraine was singing Barbara's praises as she had just spent her gem (which she earned by sewing some jelly bags) on a very successful reflexology session.

Anne, although in a little bit of a rush came to pick up her Gems and will earn her first one soon when she will give Dianne a lift to the airport.

Diane managed to rush down from work and unfortunately was 'tortured' by the wonderful array of cakes and biscuits on offer as she is wheat and dairy intollerant, this then sparked off a possible exchange for Diane to help Loreen with recipes for a member of the family who had just been diagnosed with the same condition or might be able to make a single meal if you have someone to stay with you and you don't know how to cook especially for them. Although Diane did not think she had anything exciting to give as she gives lifts to Roko amongst other things, Barbara perked up and mentioned that she would love a regular lifts as she was about the join the club!

Angie too came back early from work, she is happy to do bike maintenance, help with German and Danish...

Loreen mentioned she is a professional hairdresser and is good at cutting curley hair. .. she seems to be the answer to Laraine's prayer. When Loreen started talking about her lovely bouncy dog, which is full of energy.... just the sort of thing Henry could do with. (Barbara's dog) So even our dogs could become friends!

I would like to say Thank You to Margit and Lawrence for making it possible to provide some 'sunshine' and happiness for a couple of hours to a hand ful of people on a dreary afternoon. .

If you too would like to organise something, please do as you never know how much positive change these little meetings can bring about, they are well worth the effort.
